How food works

Food at home is stock. Your kitchen holds units of each grocery, and every recipe uses some up when it finishes. Tap a kitchen piece (stove, cooler box, worktop) and its card lists the recipes it can make, a Kitchen stock grid of what you have, and a 🛵 Restock the kitchen on ChopNow button. If something is missing, the recipe says which item (“No parboiled rice left 🛒”) and won't start.

Every new home starts with this in the kitchen:

That covers two pots of jollof, a few noodle pots and egg sandwiches (once you own a worktop or table), plus garri and zobo for snacks. After that you order more.

Every grocery on ChopNow. One pack adds the number of units shown to your kitchen. The unit price is what a recipe really costs you.

Cooking at home

Each recipe runs on certain furniture. The hunger shown runs from the cheapest piece to the best one, because each star above one adds 10% to the hunger and fun. Cooking also trains your Cooking skill, which the Chef career needs. Ingredient cost is worked out at the per-unit price above.

Kitchen furniture

What each piece cooks, with the hunger it gives at its own stars. Pieces marked “starter” are in every new home. Buy them in Buy mode; see the homes and furniture guide.

Hot food around town

Every venue snack and plate that fills you, best first. You pay when you start, it takes a few seconds, and there is nothing to stock. Getting there costs time and maybe a fare (see places and travel).

ChopNow, the delivery app

ChopNow lives on your phone (Phone → ChopNow, the 🛵 icon). It has two tabs.

🛒 Groceries

1. Each row shows the pack, how many units you already have in stock, and the price.
2. Use the stepper on each row to set how many packs you want (up to 20 of one item per order).
3. The bar at the bottom always shows the item count, the rider fee of ₦200 and the total. One fee covers the whole order, however many items are in it.
4. Tap Place order. You pay at once and the stock is added to your kitchen straight away. If you are short, the button tells you by how much.

🍛 Ready meals

Hot food delivered and eaten on arrival, wherever you are. Tap Buy meal. You can't order one during a shift, or when your hunger is nearly full.

The ready meal price already includes delivery; the ₦200 rider fee is for grocery orders.

Best value food

Per naira

Cost per point of hunger, cheapest first. Home recipes are priced at their ingredients' unit cost (the rider fee is spread over a whole order, so it adds little) with the base one-star effect. The ten best:

🥣 Cold Garri Bowl wins on price but only gives +25. For a proper meal, 🍛 Stir a Jollof Pot is the best value at ₦4.5 a point. Out of the house, 🍲 Abula Plate (🍲 Iya Basira's Buka) leads; on ChopNow it is 🍛 Owambe Rice Pack at ₦10.7.

Per minute

Hunger per second of the action itself (travel not counted). Buka plates are fast because you don't cook. The quickest fills:

A weekly food budget

Say you eat three big meals a day for a week: 21 meals. Three plates of about +70 replace roughly 21 hours of hunger drain a day, which suits a normal day with sleep and a shift. Four ways to do it:

Cooking jollof feeds you best for the least money, and it trains Cooking too. Egg sandwiches cost about the same but fill you only half as much. Most players mix: cook at home in the morning and evening, and grab a buka plate when they are already out. Fit the total into your week with the money guide.

Tips and common mistakes

• Order groceries in one big weekly order: the rider fee is per order, not per item.
• Buy whole sets: jollof needs rice, purée, two stock cubes and oil; one missing item stops the pot.
• Eat right before a shift. You can't eat at work, and hunger falls fast there.
• Don't overfill: a gain past 100 is wasted, and ChopNow refuses a meal when you are nearly full.
• Big plates such as jollof, egusi and the heavier buka dishes also give “Well Fed”, a mood boost.
