The city map

Tap Map in the bar at the bottom of the screen (or press M on a computer). You see the whole neighbourhood from above, with a name pill over every venue and one over your Home. The pill of the place you are in is marked, and a place that is shut right now shows a small moon on its pill. At the top of the screen, the green dot tells you how many players are online right now.

Tap any pill to open its location card. It shows:

• the place's name, area and a line about it;
• its hours right now: "Open · closes 9pm", "Opens 7am · in 2h 10m" or "Never closes";
• What you can do here: every activity in the venue, as tags;
• Around right now: how many players are there, plus the regulars by name;
• Getting there: the five ways to travel with today's price from where you stand;
• a Go button with the fare on it, and Copy link to share the place.

You can also open Phone → Ride. It lists Home and every venue with its area, whether it is open now, and the cheapest paid fare from where you are. Tapping a row opens that place's card on the map.

Two sides of the railway

A railway line runs across the middle of the map, with trains going both ways. Fares depend on it: a trip on your own side is near, and a trip that crosses the line is far. Here is where every place sits.

The side goes by where a place stands on the map, not by the area in its name: a venue whose area says "Agege" can sit south of the line.

Every way to travel

Trips happen in real time, so these are real seconds. Which ride to use:

• Most trips: 🚶🏾 Walk. It is free, and the slowest trip in town is 20 seconds. The fastest ride saves you 17 seconds on a far trip.
• Cheapest paid ride: Keke and Danfo, at ₦100 near and ₦200 far. They cost and take exactly the same; pick either.
• Fastest: 🏍️ Okada, 2 seconds on your side of the line. Worth it only when you are racing someone to a gem (see the gem hunt guide).
• 🚕 Taxi: the dearest option, ₦800 near and ₦900 far, and never quicker than Okada. Today it is purely a treat.

The game remembers the last way you travelled and picks it for you next time. A ride you cannot afford is greyed out with "Can’t afford it".

How a trip works

1. Open a place's card, choose a way to travel, tap Go.
2. The fare is paid at once. Money from your Welcome fund is spent first, then your spendable cash (both show in Phone → Bank).
3. A card at the top left shows "Heading to …" with the time left, and your character rides across the map.
4. When you arrive you are placed inside the venue (or your room), with a "You're now at …" message.

Tapping Go when you cannot leave tells you why, in a bubble by the button:

• you are on a shift ("Not while on shift") — finish or leave the shift first;
• you are already on the way somewhere, or already there;
• the place is closed ("Closed · opens 10pm");
• you are still busy with an activity — stop it or let it finish;
• you do not have the fare ("You're ₦… short") — walk instead.

Your own things — bed, stove, shower — only work at home. Tapping one while you are out tells you to head back first. A shift also starts from home: the game takes you to your workplace when you clock in (more in the jobs guide).

Opening hours

All times are Lagos time, and every place's hours are in the list below. 19 of the 24 places keep hours, so the city has a shape: the market and the bakery are morning places, The Vault only wakes up at night. Pen Cinema Bus Stop, Orile-Agege General Hospital, Faith Road, Agege Police Division and Agege Police Cell never close.

• A place that is shut shows a moon on its map pill, and its card says when it opens and how long that is.
• You cannot set off for a shut place; the Go button tells you when it opens, before you pay anything.
• Inside a place five minutes before it shuts, the line in its bar says "Closing in 5 minutes". At closing time you walk out and home on foot, free. Something you are already doing there finishes first.
• Shifts keep their own hours: a workplace being shut never cuts a shift short.
• Agege Trust Bank (8 AM – 4 PM, Mon–Fri); Oke-Koto Model College (7 AM – 5 PM, Mon–Sat); Agege Magistrate Court (8 AM – 5 PM, Mon–Fri); Iroko Motors (9 AM – 7 PM, Mon–Sat): shut on the other days of the week, and the card names the day it opens again.

Inside a venue

A bar along the bottom of a venue shows its name, a changing line about what is going on, its zones and a People button with how many are there. Tap a zone to see what you can do in it. Each card shows the time, price and which needs and skills it moves.

• Activities in venues take seconds, not minutes. You do one thing at a time.
• The price is paid when you start. Cancelling gives no refund and no effect.
• Gigs pay cash when they finish. Each gig rests for its cooldown afterwards, and you can do 10 gigs a day in total. You need at least 10 Energy and must not be seriously ill.
• Nothing in a venue can be done while you are on shift.
• Skill XP shown in this guide is the base amount. Traits that boost a skill, and your start in life, can raise what you actually get (see traits and dreams).

Every venue

Effects are percentage points on your needs. "Feeling" is the mood it leaves you in (see needs and health). Gig pay is today's figure; the zone card in the game always shows the current one.

Best place for…

Picks worked out from the numbers above. "Per ₦100" means need points for each ₦100 you spend.

Cheap food

These cost nothing. Greeting or yarning with a regular or a real player also fills Social — see friends and multiplayer.

Training each skill

Gigs, day or night

Check the opening hours above before a late gig. Ranked by pay after the gig's own cost:

Mudu Pepper Trade leaves you the most (₦5,600). With 10 gigs a day shared across all of them, rotate between two or three venues so one gig's rest never holds you up. More on gigs in the jobs guide.

Common mistakes

• Paying for a ride on every trip. Walking is free and rarely more than a few seconds slower.
• Heading for The Vault in the afternoon. Check the hours on its card first.
• Starting a trip while friends are visiting your home. They are sent home when you leave.
• Cancelling a paid activity halfway. The money is gone and you get nothing for it.
• Doing gigs on near-empty Energy. Below 10, gigs and shifts refuse you.
