The Bank app
Open Phone → Bank. From top to bottom it shows:

- Balance, split into Spendable (wages, gigs, payouts, prizes) and the Welcome fund (your starting money and goal rewards), plus your Net worth: cash plus what you paid for your furniture, minus what is left on the loan. Below that, Today's income.
- This week's tax: your current band, the week's taxable income, the tax deducted so far, and how much more you can earn before tax starts.
- Your rent: the weekly amount, a countdown to the next one, Unpaid bills and the Settle my bills button.
- The Kolanut loan (if you have one): how much is left, with Repay and Clear the loan buttons.
- Transactions: your last 30 money movements.
Whenever you pay for anything, the game spends your Welcome fund before your Spendable money. You never have to choose.

Starting money
The birth lottery decides how you start (Ajepako or Ajebota). All of it goes into the Welcome fund, and the first rent is due on the first Saturday after you start.
| First home | Rent a week | Ajepako | Ajebota |
|---|---|---|---|
| Face-me-I-face-you · Agege Market | ₦1,900 | ₦63,500 | ₦420,000 |
| Self-contain · Dopemu | ₦4,800 | ₦78,500 | ₦420,000 |
| Mini-flat · Ogba | ₦13,600 | Not offered | ₦420,000 rent paid by parents |
Ajepako's money includes the ₦45,000 loan, which has to be paid back. Ajebota's ₦420,000 is a gift, and the parents pay the mini-flat's rent for as long as you live there; move out and the rent is yours.
The first-session goals each pay once:
| Goal | Reward |
|---|---|
| Breakfast first | ₦1,200 |
| Get ready for the day | ₦1,200 |
| Find work | ₦2,500 + 1 ✨ |
| Make the room yours | ₦2,500 + 1 ✨ |
| Lunch at Iya Basira’s | ₦3,500 + 1 ✨ |
| Greet a neighbour | ₦8,000 + 1 ✨ |
Money out
- Rent every Saturday at 9 AM (below).
- The Kolanut Loans instalment at the same time, for Ajepako players.
- Tax on wages and business payouts above ₦400,000 a week, taken as you are paid.
- Moving house: 3 weeks' rent upfront (two weeks of rent plus a week for the agent).
- Food, rides and fun: plates at the buka, groceries, keke and danfo fares, match tickets. Small, daily, and they add up. ChopNow adds a ₦200 delivery fee to every order.
- Furniture and businesses: the big purchases you save for.
- Health: medicine for a mild illness costs ₦1,800 (Phone → Health). Leave a serious one untreated and a hospital admission bills ₦25,000; if you cannot pay, it waits under Unpaid bills.
The weekly tax
Tax is on wages and business payouts only, added up from Monday 00:00 Lagos time. Each payment is taxed at the band your week has reached, so you never pay a higher rate on money you earned earlier in the week.
| Income this week | Rate on that part |
|---|---|
| ₦0 to ₦400,000 | 0% |
| ₦400,000 to ₦2,500,000 | 10% |
| ₦2,500,000 to ₦20,000,000 | 25% |
| Over ₦20,000,000 | 40% |
A new worker never pays it: the best Level 1 week (Trading with every task starred) is ₦74,520. Two worked examples:
A top job
Chief Technology Officer in Tech, 5 perfect shifts at ₦104,305: ₦521,525.
- ₦400,000 at 0% = ₦0
- ₦121,525 at 10% = ₦12,152
Tax ₦12,152, you keep ₦509,372 (2.3% overall).
A big business
An average week of the ⛽ Fuel Station Share (20%), with no other income: ₦3,368,960.
- ₦400,000 at 0% = ₦0
- ₦2,100,000 at 10% = ₦210,000
- ₦868,960 at 25% = ₦217,240
Tax ₦427,240, you keep ₦2,941,720 (12.7% overall).
Wages and payouts share one weekly total, so a business owner with a good job reaches each band sooner. The shift result and the Invest app show amounts before tax; the Bank shows what was deducted.
Rent day
Every Saturday at 9 AM, Lagos time, the landlord takes a week's rent and Kolanut Loans takes its instalment, straight from your balance. The Bank counts down to it. When you move house, the move-in charge covers your first weeks, so the next bill comes later.
When you cannot pay
- A bill you cannot cover in full is not taken at all (money never goes below zero). It shows under Unpaid bills.
- Pay it any time with Settle my bills. The game also tries again every Saturday, oldest bill first.
- While you owe rent you cannot move house.
- If rent is still unpaid 2 weeks after it was due, you are moved to the Face-me-I-face-you · Agege Market. The rent you owed is written off, you keep your furniture, and what does not fit goes into storage.
Before you spend big late in the week, make sure your balance covers Saturday's rent and instalment.
The Kolanut Loans loan
Ajepako players start with a ₦45,000 advance and owe ₦52,000 in total: ₦7,000 more than you got. It is collected at ₦6,500 every Saturday, so it lasts 8 weeks.
- Repay in the Bank pays one instalment now; Clear the loan pays the rest.
- Paying early does not reduce the total. It only finishes the loan sooner.
- A missed instalment waits under Unpaid bills with no extra charge, and the loan cannot get you evicted.
Homes
Move from Phone → Houses. Bigger homes hold more furniture; the full picture is in homes and furniture.

With all tasks starred, the wage rises to ₦74,520. Add three Mudu Pepper Trade gigs a day at Agege Market (₦5,600 each after its cost) and the week leaves ₦160,600. Starting with ₦78,500 in the Welcome fund, the 🔌 Phone Charging Spot (₦120,000) is within reach in about 1 week if you spend nothing else.
From first week to a bigger life
- Week 1. Finish the goals (₦18,900), take a job, work every workday and fill the gaps with gigs. Keep Saturday's bills covered before anything else.
- First business. Buy the 🔌 Phone Charging Spot (₦120,000). It pays back fastest and earns while you sleep.
- Climb. Train your career skill at home and push for promotions; each level is worth more than the last.
- Second business. The 🍞 Bread & Butter Table (₦220,000) next, then up the list.
- Move up when your businesses' average week covers the new rent, so a slow week at work never threatens your home.

Game money stays in the game
Naira in Agege Life has no real value. It cannot be bought, sold, exchanged or withdrawn, and the game sells nothing for real money. More in the FAQ.
Common mistakes
- Spending the Welcome fund on furniture in week one and missing the first Saturday.
- Leaving a shift early and losing most of the wage.
- Ignoring Unpaid bills until the move to the Face-me-I-face-you · Agege Market.
- Buying the most expensive business you can afford instead of the one that pays back fastest.
- Moving up a home on wages alone, then struggling with rent in a slow week.
Questions
Can I buy naira with real money?
No. Naira in Agege Life is game money: it cannot be bought, sold, exchanged or withdrawn, and nothing in the game is for sale for real money.
What happens if I cannot pay rent?
The bill shows under Unpaid bills in the Bank and nothing else happens at first. Pay it with Settle my bills. If rent stays unpaid for 2 weeks, you are moved to the Face-me-I-face-you · Agege Market with your furniture and the debt is written off.
Is gig money taxed?
No. Only wages and business payouts are taxed, and only above ₦400,000 in a week. Gigs, gem prizes, goal rewards and selling a business are never taxed.
Does paying the Kolanut Loans loan early save money?
No. You owe ₦52,000 however fast you pay. Clearing it early only frees your Saturdays of the ₦6,500 instalment.
What is the Welcome fund in the Bank?
Your starting money and goal rewards. It buys anything in the game and is always spent before your Spendable money.
When does the tax week reset?
Every Monday at midnight, Lagos time. The Bank shows your income, band and tax so far for the week.
Why is my net worth lower than my balance?
Net worth is your balance plus what you paid for the furniture in your home, minus what is left on your loan. Businesses are not counted.
