Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and the team that makes and runs Agege Life (“we”, “us”), for playing the game at agege.life and using the site. By playing you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not play.

Who can play

You must be 18 or older. You confirm this when you make your first character, and we close accounts we find belong to someone younger.

One person, one account. Several accounts used to farm money, prizes or votes, or to get around a ban, will be closed.

Your account

The first time you open the game you get a guest account tied to that browser. If you add an email address (and, if you like, a password), you can sign in to the same life on another device.

Keep your email inbox and password to yourself: whoever can sign in can play your life. Tell us at once if you think someone else has got in.

You can delete your account at any time from Phone → Settings → Delete my account. What that removes is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Game money and things in the game

The naira, homes, furniture, businesses, perks and everything else in Agege Life exist only inside the game. They have no value outside it: they cannot be bought with real money, sold, cashed out, or exchanged for anything real, and we do not offer that.

You do not own them; you have a personal, revocable permission to use them while you play. Buying, selling or trading them for real money or real goods, in or outside the game, is not allowed and leads to the accounts involved being closed.

We may change prices, rewards and other numbers in the game, and correct mistakes (including taking back money or items that came from a bug). We may give game money as compensation when something went wrong on our side, but we do not have to.

The game is in Beta

Agege Life is still being built. Features change, things can break and the game may be offline at times. Your progress is saved. In rare cases we may have to reset it; if so, we announce it on the Updates page before it happens.

Playing with other people

Real people share the venues, messages and homes. Treat them the way you would want to be treated. Not allowed: insults, threats, harassment or hate aimed at anyone; sexual content or advances; asking anyone for money, airtime, bank or card details, or running any scam; pretending to be someone else, including our staff; sharing someone’s personal information; spam and advertising; anything illegal.

Never send real money to someone you met in the game, and never give anyone your password or sign-in code. Our staff will never ask for them.

You can block anyone, and report a player or one of their messages from your chat with them in Messages.

Fair play

Play the game as it is meant to be played. Do not use bots, scripts or other automation, do not interfere with the servers or other players’ connections, and do not exploit bugs. If you find one, tell us at the contact address below rather than using it.

What you write

You are responsible for what you write in names and messages. You let us store it, show it to the people you sent it to, and review it when moderating, for as long as the game needs it.

Messages and names are screened before they are sent, and text that breaks these rules is not delivered. A reported message is hidden until a moderator has looked at it.

When rules are broken

We may remove content, hide messages, limit what an account can do, take back game money or items gained by breaking these terms, and suspend or close accounts. Where we can, we tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and a person will look at it again.

Our game

Agege Life — its code, art, characters, text, music and design — is made by us and belongs to us. You may play it and share screenshots and videos of your own play. You may not copy the game or its content, sell it, or build anything on top of it without our written permission.

No guarantees and limits on our responsibility

The game is free and offered as it is, without any promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or keep your progress. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for lost progress, game money or items, or for anything other players do or say.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law as a consumer that cannot be given up.

Changes, ending and the law

We may update these terms. When the change matters, we will say so in the game or on the Updates page before it takes effect; playing after that means you accept the new terms. You can stop playing and delete your account at any time, and we may stop offering the game.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a problem, please write to us first: most things can be sorted out quickly.
