Every home
Room size is the floor grid your furniture stands on. Move-in is what you pay on the day you move. You can pick the first three when you make your character; the rest you move into later from the phone.

Your first home
The birth lottery decides what you can choose (see the birth lottery guide). Moving in at creation is free; your first rent bill is the coming Saturday.
Ajepako
Choose from Face-me-I-face-you · Agege Market or Self-contain · Dopemu. The Mini-flat · Ogba is locked. Your starting money (the loan plus a settling-in sum) depends on the room:
- Face-me-I-face-you · Agege Market: start with ₦63,500
- Self-contain · Dopemu: start with ₦78,500
The cheaper room leaves you less cash but a smaller weekly bill.
Ajebota
Any of the three. You start with ₦420,000 whichever you pick, and if you take the Mini-flat · Ogba your parents pay its rent: no rent bill at all while you live there.
That deal belongs to that lease. Move anywhere else, even back to the mini-flat later, and you pay rent like everyone else.
Moving house
- Open the Phone, then Houses. Each home shows its size, weekly rent and upfront cost.
- Tap a home to see the breakdown: Rent deposit (2 weeks), Agent and legal fees and the Total today.
- Tap Move in · ₦…. You can't while on a shift, while you owe rent, or if you are short.
- You are in. Your furniture is laid out in the new room, and a message tells you if anything went to storage.

What the deposit buys: the week up to the coming Saturday and the week after it are covered. Your first rent bill in the new place is the Saturday after next. Rent already paid on the old place is not refunded.
Your furniture follows. Each piece keeps its spot if it still fits; if not, the game finds the first free spot (turning it if needed). A piece that can't fit anywhere goes to storage, never lost. Your paint and floor come along too. You can move down to a cheaper home the same way.
Plan the jump.
Before you move, make sure you can pay the move-in and keep a couple of weeks' rent in hand. The money guide has a weekly budget.
Rent day and eviction
- Rent is billed every Saturday morning (9 AM Lagos time) and paid straight from your wallet, starter money first. If you are behind, the oldest bill is paid first.
- If you can't cover it, the bill becomes arrears. Money never goes below zero; the Bank app shows what you owe and lets you pay it off.
- After 2 weeks with rent unpaid, you are moved to the Face-me-I-face-you · Agege Market (₦1,900 a week). The arrears are written off; your pieces are laid out in the new room, and what doesn't fit goes to storage.
Rent comes before shopping.
A new sofa on Friday night can leave you short on Saturday morning.
Buy mode, step by step
- At home, tap Buy in the bottom bar (or press B on a computer). It is greyed out during a shift, away from home and in other people's rooms.
- Pick a category chip along the top: 🎨 Design, 🛏️ Sleep, 🍳 Kitchen, 🛁 Bath, 🛋️ Comfort, 🎶 Fun, 📚 Skills, 💡 Light, 🪴 Decor, 🐾 Pets, 💎 Luxury, plus 📦 Storage. Items are listed cheapest first, each with its picture, stars, size and price. Pieces you can't afford are dimmed.
- Tap a piece and it appears in your room as a ghost, already in the first free spot. Tap where you want it, or move it with the arrow keys.
- Tap Rotate (or press R) to turn it. Wall pieces don't rotate. If the spot is no good, the bar says why: past the room's edge, bumps into another piece, blocks the doorway, or that wall spot is used.
- Tap Place · ₦… (or press Enter) to pay and put it down. Cancel (or Esc) puts it back.
- Paint and floors show on your room as a preview first; tap Buy · ₦… to keep them. A new paint or floor replaces the old one.
- To rearrange, stay in Buy mode and tap anything you own, then Move here. Moving is free, as many times as you like.
- Storage holds pieces that didn't fit after a move. Pick one and place it like a new piece, free.
There is no selling: once bought, a piece is yours. The room grid keeps a path to the door clear, and some wall spots are already taken by the window, lamps, door, landlord's calendar and family photo that every home has.
Stars and what furniture does
Every piece has one to four stars. Each star above one adds 10% to the need gains of that piece's actions (losses and skill XP stay the same). A one-star Kero Wick Stove makes a jollof worth +70 hunger; the three-star Cylinder Hob makes the same pot worth +84. A need never goes past 100, so for a full sleep every bed is equal; stars show on naps and lie-ins.

Cheap and good: the Tall Mirror for hairstylists, the Six-String Guitar for DJs, and the stove you already have for chefs. Tech workers need the Coding Desk, and traders only get Hustle at home from its e-learning module, so traders train mostly at the market.
Common mistakes
- Moving up before you can carry the rent. The next home's rent is often more than double the last.
- Filling a small room with big pieces: anything that won't fit after a move sits in storage.
- Buying decor before basics. Pieces with no action only change the look.
- Buying a second piece that does the same action at the same stars. One is enough.
Questions
Can I sell furniture?
No. Once bought, a piece is yours for good. You can move it around your room for free, and it comes with you when you move house.
What happens to my furniture if I move somewhere smaller?
Each piece keeps its spot if it fits, or the game finds it another spot. Anything that cannot fit at all goes to storage (Buy → Storage) and can be placed again for free later. Nothing is lost.
When is rent taken?
Every Saturday morning (9 AM Lagos time), straight from your wallet. If you can't cover it, it shows as owed in the Bank app.
What happens if I do not pay rent?
After 2 weeks of unpaid rent the landlord moves you to the Face-me-I-face-you · Agege Market. The arrears are written off and every piece you own is moved there too.
Do more stars matter?
Yes. Each star above one adds 10% to the need gains of that piece’s actions, so a three-star hob makes a bigger jollof than a one-star stove.
Can I move house while I owe rent?
No. Pay what you owe in the Bank app first. You also can’t move during a shift.
Why can I not open Buy?
Buy only works in your own room and not during a shift. Go home first.
